Victoria Tunnel, Ouse Street
Constructed in the late 1830s to carry coal from Spital Tongues to the Tyne, the Tunnel runs deep below the streets of the city. Converted in 1939/40 for use as a public air-raid shelter, a wartime entrance at Ouse Street provides today's visitor access.

St Ann’s Church, Breamish Street

Ouseburn Farm, Ouseburn Road
Formerly Byker City Farm, which opened in 1976. The farm had to close in 2002 for remediation works after lead contamination was found in the soil - the farm was, and still is, on the site of a former Victorian lead works – and was opened again in 2004 as an environmental and heritage education centre. Although there are no animals on site, fundraising is underway to re-integrate animals onto the farm and its surrounding land.
