There are many opportunities for people to participate in activities, in and around the Ouseburn Valley. The levels of participation vary, so anyone who wishes to contribute something to the community should be able to find a group or activity matching their interests and time constraints.
In terms of tenants and residents groups, there are a number of established groups that meet in the area and in Byker. These groups are listed below with the relevant contact details. There are also volunteering opportunities with the Ouseburn Farm, Ouseburn Trust and Stepney Bank Stables. Colette Harrison is the new Volunteer Consortium Programme Co-ordinator working for the Ouseburn Trust.

Volunteering
There are lots of ways to volunteer with the Victoria Tunnel heritage project, both for one-off events and longer-term.

The Ouseburn Farm also has regular volunteering opportunities with educational programmes and for local people who are interested in sharing their experiences of the Ouseburn Valley and surrounding area.
